We began a six month pilot programme in November with the Princess Alice Hospice to provide a night response service, three times a week, to patients in their homes receiving palliative care. This service has enabled patients who are terminally ill to stay in their usual place of residence as their preferred place of care. This pilot was so successful that we have secured funding to roll it out to seven nights a week, 365 days a year. This is fantastic news for patients.
