The School Health team have been shortlisted under the Public Health Nursing category for their Mental Health Ambassador programme.
We are incredibly proud of the teams and wish them all the best!
Karen Long who is the Service Lead for both teams said:
Learning Disability Community Nursing Service “I am so proud of the hard work and dedication the Learning Disability Community Nursing Service has shown in reducing inequality for those with a learning disability, by helping to remove barriers to healthcare. Project 2020 is a fantastic innovation which started during a very complex and difficult time, and has gone from strength to strength.
Being shortlisted for this Nursing Times Award is great recognition for all the team’s hard work, commitment and determination to make a difference for the community of people with a learning disability.
Well done to Su and the team!”
School Health Team “It’s absolutely fantastic news that our School Health Service has been shortlisted in the Public Health Nursing category for their Mental Health Ambassador programme. The team has worked tirelessly throughout these most challenging of times to support children and young people to develop resilience, to promote wellbeing and to remove the stigma of mental health problems.
I am extremely proud of the team, and this project demonstrates the very best innovative and partnership working, showing just what can be achieved when a ‘whole community’ approach is used.
Being shortlisted for this award is a well-deserved recognition of their creativity and commitment to the children and young people of the Royal Borough of Kingston.
Well done to Kate and the team!”
