Our podiatry team provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment of disease and conditions affecting the foot and lower limb.

Our treatments are focused on relieving symptoms, improving function, disease prevention, and maintaining independence and well-being.

Your Healthcare provides a range of podiatry (foot-related) services to people who are registered with a Kingston GP.

Our podiatry services help you look after your feet by providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment of disease and conditions affecting the foot and lower limb.

We provide a range of foot health related services including:

  • Screening and treatment of at-risk patients
  • Chronic and acute ulcer management
  • Orthotic and insole prescription and manufacture for feet
  • Nail surgery
  • Removal of corns, and other soft tissue lesions
  • Health promotion, education and advice
  • Maintenance care for chronic and irreversible foot problems

Podiatry services are provided to patients on a needs-led basis and this is regardless of their age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, ability or religion. Any member of the community requiring foot care or foot health advice will receive an initial assessment or education session. Eligibility for treatment will be assessed against a patient's foot condition and any medical or physical condition that may be an influencing factor.

Medical priority for treatment will be given to people with any of the following conditions:

  • Diabetes
  • Rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory or connective tissue disorders
  • Peripheral vascular disease
  • Neurological disorders affecting the foot and lower limb
  • HIV/immunosuppressed/long term steroid therapy

Podiatric priority for treatment will be given to people with any of the following:

  • Acute pain
  • Acute/chronic painful lesions
  • Other acute problems including ulceration, infection, haemorrhage
  • Bio-mechanical problems or gait dysfunction

Non-eligible conditions for treatment include:

  • Patients with no foot or medical priority conditions requiring continued care
  • Patients able to undertake their own basic foot and nail care
  • Those with carers or relatives able to do so
  • Minor callous and verrucae which are asymptomatic (painless)
  • Problems that are caused or aggravated by inappropriate footwear

 

Referral process:

Our podiatry service requires standard patient and referrer information, including NHS number, ethnicity, contact and address details.

We also require information about the reason for the referral, past medical history, and whether the referral is urgent, non-urgent, or routine.

  • Patients need to be referred to this service by their GP or other health care professional.
  • Patients must be registered to a Kingston CCG GP.
  • This service is open to children and adults.
  • Consultation is by appointment only.

Clinics run once or twice a week and can occur on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

There are 70 parking spaces for use by patients with appointments. A number-plate checking system is in place to prevent car park misuse and to ensure that patients can park for their health visit when they need to. You will therefore need to enter your vehicle registration number when you check in for your appointment, so please ensure that you have this ready to enter.
