The tissue viability and leg ulcer service provides range of advice and treatment for a broad spectrum of skin, soft tissue and wound problems including pressure sores, leg ulcers, surgical wounds and diabetic ulcers.

The Tissue Viability service accepts referrals from any healthcare professional for any patient registered with a Kingston GP. The specialist nurse can provide visits to patients in their own homes or in residential or nursing care homes, and will also see patients at their local GP practice.

The leg ulcer service comprises a specialist nursing team who run clinics for patients. Leg ulcers are non-healing wounds on the lower leg which have lasted more than 6 weeks; they can typically start as a skin tear or laceration.

The leg ulcer clinic runs 5 days a week, from 8.30 am – 4.30pm.

There is also a healed clinic on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9am to 1pm.

The team is led and supported by our local leg ulcer specialist nurse who also supports district nursing staff caring for patients who are unable to attend clinic.
