Survey shows Your Healthcare staff are proud, committed and have a strong organisational culture

Your Healthcare staff members continue to feel strongly connected to Your Healthcare’s purpose, are proud of the services delivered, enjoy their jobs and have good working relationships with colleagues, according to the annual staff survey. The survey, carried out in April and May 2026, was completed by 80% of staff, a much higher response rate than comparable health organisations nationally.

In the categories of pride, purpose and commitment, the survey found that:

  • 97% of staff say YH is a good organisation to work for
  • 98% would be happy with the standard of care provided by YH if a friend or relative needed treatment
  • 97% are proud of the services YH provides
  • 96% are proud to deliver NHS services while valuing YH’s independence and flexibility
  • 92% would recommend YH as a great place to work.

Staff members also continue to report a very positive day-to-day working experience, underpinned by strong role clarity, trust and engagement:

  • 98% say they are trusted to do their job
  • 98% know what they need to do to be successful in their job
  • 98% have good working relationships with colleagues
  • 96% enjoy their job
  • 93% have clarity around YH.

Commenting on the results, managing director Ed Montgomery said:

“As an NHS provider organisation, we were particularly pleased to see that on our advocacy rate, which is part of the new national performance framework, shows a very high score with 98% of colleagues stating that they would be happy with the standard of care provided if a friend or relative needed treatment and 97% describing YH as a good organisation to work for.

“It was also very good to see such a high score – 96% – for the question relating to our role as a community interest company. Colleagues are proud to deliver NHS services but also value our independence, which gives us high levels of flexibility to adapt and innovate without hierarchical structures and complex approvals procedures. In an environment where digital technologies have already shown significant opportunities for health service delivery, and cost improvements are now embedded in both national and local commissioning programmes, the ability to exploit efficiencies by transforming how we work, while at the same time protecting our high standards of care, is key to a sustainable future.”

Gary Cattermole, director at The Survey Initiative, the independent research company that delivers the staff survey for Your Healthcare, added:

“These results demonstrate very strong engagement outcomes, with exceptionally high levels of pride in YH and its services, confidence in the care provided, and a strong sense of organisational identity and advocacy as a place to work. At a time when nationally we are seeing a reduction in engagement scores, it is really positive to see Your Healthcare bucking the trend.”

The survey also highlighted areas for improvement. These included supporting career development and progression, and ensuring personal development reviews help staff perform effectively. All Your Healthcare teams will now review their individual results (anonymised at staff member level) and develop action plans to show where progress is needed.

Ed Montgomery concluded: “We will be working with service leads to identify how any concerns raised in the survey can be best addressed and will report back on our progress to staff members on a regular basis.”
