Your Healthcare services praised in joint Ofsted/CQC report
Your Healthcare services have received excellent feedback in the Ofsted and Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection of the support available for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Kingston.
Carried out in June 2026, the inspection evaluated how the Local Area Partnership, which includes Achieving for Children (AfC), NHS South West London Integrated Care Board and Kingston Council, works together to support families. The partnership secured the strongest possible outcome, with inspectors noting that: “Professionals in education, health and social care collaborate and share information effectively. The partnership has further strengthened their approach to information sharing at key transition points to enable children and young people with SEND to get the best care and guidance. This is combined with a dedication across the partnership to improve how quickly needs are identified and support put in place.”
Your Healthcare’s Children’s Speech and Language Therapy service is highlighted in the report: “Most children and young people with SEND in Kingston can access a flexible speech and language therapy offer. Children and young people with SEND across mainstream, special schools and early years settings, can access specialist pathways, including the dysphagia service. Parents are offered support through workshops such as ‘More Than Words’ and ‘iChatter’, coupled with the dedicated advice line or referral to the specialist communication assessment team.
“There is largely effective multi agency working and professional liaison across these services to provide the child or young person with SEND with a bespoke package of support to meet their identified needs. The flexible multi-agency approach enables plans and support to be coordinated based on a shared understanding of individual needs. Training provided to school and nursery staff has strengthened the early identification of needs, supported by the effective use of Family Hubs.”
Your Healthcare’s 0-19 years’ service is also praised: “There is a comprehensive universal 0 to 19 service offer delivered through health visiting and school nursing. This offer is flexible, dedicated and responsive to the individual needs of children and young people with SEND in Kingston. These avenues make a significant difference in earlier identification and support. As a result, identification is notably a strength in the early years of children’s development.”
Commenting on the report, managing director Ed Montgomery said: “The report includes well-deserved praise for our dedicated, expert and incredibly hard-working teams, and recognises the positive impact of genuine partnership working in our local community. We are proud, both of the contribution made by Your Healthcare teams to the overall support provided for SEND families, and of the strong relationships we have developed with colleagues in health, social care and education, with whom we are proud to deliver services.”
